Capital Drive/Building Renovation

One of SVS's top priorities is raising funds to renovate the more than 100-year-old organizational headquarters on Boerum Street in Brooklyn. The total cost of the project is $3.69 million. Key components include:

  • A new roof, new parapets (building edging) and pointing to fix places where cement has washed out between bricks are needed to prevent recurring leaks. This will cost $600,000.
  • Renovation of the basement to convert it into useful space. This will cost $750,000.

Additional pieces of the renovation project include a computer and network upgrade, upgrade of the fire alarm system, and renovations of the third and sixth floors.
